The ingredients needed to make Crispy Chikuwa:
  1. Make ready 1 Chikuwa
  2. Prepare 1 Mayonnaise
  3. Take 1 Panko
  4. Get 1 Fresh parsley

This is a dish of 'Chikuwa' that is stir-fried with a small amount of Oil and seasoned with Sugar and Soy Sauce. Super quick and easy dish that used to appear in my lunch box quite frequently. It is yummy with freshly cook. Chikuwa (竹輪) is a Japanese jelly-like food product made from ingredients such as fish surimi, salt, sugar, starch, monosodium glutamate and egg white.

Instructions to make Crispy Chikuwa:
  1. Cut the chikuwa into half lengthwise and crosswise. (I used half the portion in the picture to make it easier to follow.)
  2. Squirt a suitable amount of mayonnaise into the hollows of the chikuwa. (This time I used mentaiko - cod roe and mayonnaise. It was spicy and delicious)
  3. Sprinkle panko and parsley on top.
  4. Place parchment paper or aluminum foil in a tray and add Step 3, and bake in a toaster oven until lightly browned. It took 3 minutes in our toaster oven.
