A lot of us have been trained to think that comfort foods are bad and should be avoided. At times, if your comfort food is candy or another junk food, this is very true. Eggs, would you believe, are wonderful for helping you combat depression. You need to make sure, however, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The yolk is the part of the egg that matters most in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, the yolk in particular, are high in B vitamins. These B vitamins are wonderful for helping to improve your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that dictate your mood. Eat an egg and jolly up!

Put together some trail mix of nuts or seeds. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etcetera are all terrific for helping to boost your mood. The more you have of it, the more pleasant you will feel. Nuts, on top of bettering your mood, can be a super source of protein.

If you want to beat depression, try eating some cold water fish. Cold water fish such as tuna, trout and wild salmon are rich in DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. Grains can be great for fighting a terrible mood. Barley, quinoa, millet, teff, etc are all excellent for helping you feel happier. These foods can help you feel full for longer also, helping you feel better. Feeling famished can be awful! These grains can elevate your mood as it’s easy for your body to digest them. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps raise your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, elevates your mood.

Your mood can truly be helped by green tea. You knew green tea had to be included in this article, right? Green tea is high in a specific amino acid called L-theanine.
