Score a cross and boil until a skewer pierces through easily. Traditionally, the soup is made with homemade dashi or Japanese soup stock. Dashi is made from scratch with kombu (dried seaweed) and shaved bonito flakes. This Oden is a simple Japanese stew is delicious and easy to make.

The ingredients needed to make Simple Perfect Oden:
  1. Prepare 4 cm Daikon radish
  2. Take 1/3 of a slab Konnyaku
  3. Get 2 Eggs
  4. Get 1 Chikuwa
  5. Take 2 Wrapped burdock, fish cakes
  6. Make ready 1000 ml ○Japanese dashi soup stock
  7. Make ready 2 tbsp ○Soy sauce
  8. Make ready 1 tbsp ○Mentsuyu
  9. Get 1 tsp ○Salt
  10. Take 1 tbsp ○Sugar
  11. Take 1 tbsp ○Sake

In my case, it's usually a lot. But maybe I should back up a bit, in case you don't know what oden is. Oden is the quintessential comfort food in Japan to take the chill off of winter. You can even get it in cans out of vending machines.

Instructions to make Simple Perfect Oden:
  1. Slice the daikon radish into 2 cm rounds and peel the skin. Score a cross and boil until a skewer pierces through easily. Boil the eggs completely.
  2. Slice the konnyaku to 1 cm and thread the end through the hole to make a "rein knot." Blanch in the leftover water from boiling the eggs. Pour boiled water from the daikon over the fish paste items to drain excess water.
  3. Add the ingredients marked with ○ to the heated soup stock. Add the daikon radish, eggs, and konnyaku, and simmer on low heat. After 35 minutes have passed, add the chikuwa. After another 5 minutes, add the other fish paste items.
  4. After adding all the fish paste items, boil for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and cool.
  5. To make the rein-knot konnyaku, cut a 2 cm hole in the center of the sliced konnyaku and thread one side through the hole, as seen in the photo in Step 2.
  6. If you make your own dashi soup stock, you can use kombu seaweed. Save the kombu used to make the stock and after the oden has been simmering for 20 minutes, add it in.

These grains can help you feel full for longer also, helping you feel better. Feeling starved can be terrible! These grains can help your mood elevate since it’s not at all difficult for your body to digest them. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps raise your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.

Green tea is excellent for moods. You were simply waiting to read that here, weren’t you? Green tea has been found to be packed full of an amino acid called L-theanine. Studies show that this specific amino acid can basically stimulate brain waves. This helps improve your mental energy while simultaneously relaxing the rest of your body.
